COMMON BOND ANNOUNCES NEW ‘ON THE GO’ CONCEPT

April 21, 2020

Common Bond is excited to announce “Common Bond On The Go” its newest concept featuring increased convenience through its express drive through service and “grab ‘n go” menu offerings.

While plans for “Common Bond On the Go” were already underway, the company seized the opportunity when a space became available to activate the concept quickly to meet the current demands of the Houston community. As the COVID-19 pandemic rages, Common Bond wanted its customers to access drive through convenience and safety at this newest location. Common Bond On the Go will be located at 601 Heights Boulevard, at the former site of Sam’s Fried Chicken & Donuts. The new location is 1,176 square feet, will include indoor seating, and a soon-to-be-expanded outdoor patio. Eaves Construction is managing the renovation and build out of the new space.

“Meeting the needs of our customers, employees and community is our single focus right now. They are all a part of the Common Bond family, and they need us,” says George Joseph, Owner of the expanding brand. “I’m just so glad we were able to find the right space, so we could activate this quickly for them.”

This will be the brand’s first “drive-through” concept, which will also have counter service and limited seating. The outdoor patio will be expanded on the north side of the building, providing more outdoor seating in preparation of Houston’s Stay at Home order lifting later this spring. Customers seeking the more expanded menu are encouraged to go to Common Bond’s full service dine-in location at 449 W 19th Street.

“Eventually our goal is to have ‘On-the-Go’s’ all around the city,” says Chris Fannin, President of Common Bond. “It’s a concept of ultimate convenience, while also maintaining superb quality. Customers will be able to pick up their coffee and croissant on the way to work, and a bottle of wine and baguette for dinner on the way home.”

The menu will showcase all of Common Bond’s signature cookies, pastries and croissants, as well as a grab ‘n go style savory menu of breakfast, lunch and dinner items. Menu items to include Vanilla Yogurt with Chia Seeds & Honey, a variety of croissant breakfast sandwiches, Wedge Salad, Cobb Salad, Lettuce Wrap with Chicken Salad & Sprout Slaw, and Smoked Salmon & Cream Cheese on Sunflower Rye among many others. On-the-Go will also feature a Picnic style menu of Prosciutto & Melon, Meat & Cheese, Spreads & Breads and Cheese & Fruit. Wine and beer service is anticipated to begin in early June.

The new concept has a tentative opening date of Monday May 18th, 2020.
